Team India’s Sanju Samson is in doubt for the team’s second T20I game against Sri Lanka on Thursday, January 5, due to a knee injury. According to reports, Samson hurt his knee while attempting a diving catch in the first over of the Sri Lankan chase during the first T20I on Wednesday, January 4.
Despite continuing to field during the match, the injury caused swelling and Samson was advised to seek medical attention. The results of scans he underwent are still pending and it is uncertain whether he will be fit to play in the upcoming match. In the first T20I, India won by two runs and took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Deepak Hooda, Akshar Patel, and Ishan Kishan all made key contributions to India’s 162/5 total, while Shivam Mavi claimed four wickets to help defend 13 runs in the final over and secure the victory.
