The Indian cricket board (BCCI) has selected a list of 20 players who will be part of the Indian team for the 2023 Men’s World Cup, which will be held in India. The BCCI held a meeting to review and plan for the future events leading up to the World Cup, including bilateral and international cricket.
The meeting was attended by Rahul Dravid, Rohit Sharma, Chetan Sharma, and NCA head VVS Laxman, with BCCI president Roger Binny participating via video conference. The BCCI emphasized the importance of international cricket and stated that the National Cricket Academy will work with IPL franchises to monitor targeted Indian players participating in the 2023 IPL.
The Yo-Yo test and Dexa will also be implemented as part of the selection criteria for the central pool of players. The BCCI’s focus will be on the targeted Indian players participating in the IPL, and franchises will be requested to use these players in a way that limits their exposure to the wear and tear of the league.
